Dear Customer,
You might be aware, but after 34 years of being employed and then the owner for almost 10 years, I am retiring from trading in town from Newton and Newton ltd, 3 Colomberie parade, St Helier on the 24th of December 2025.
Sadly the footfall and general decline in business and now being of retirement age, I will now divert my business to new private premises, which will save me a considerable amount of money and still allow me to trade and enjoy more time with my family and grandchildren. I will still sell Duracell Batteries and other makes to the trade and customers that may require them, I already supply some of the parishes and can sell or deliver to customers property at a time convenient to us both.
The Firearm service I will offer:
Collection of Firearms, Safe Keep / Disposal
Repairs / Deactivation
Retail sales of Firearms and Ammunition
Purchasing of Firearms and Accessories
Retail sale of Shooting supplies, Cleaning equipment, Storage, etc
I can still offer any advice you might require
I can provide a bespoke and personal service during working hours to customers with a valid Firearms licence by appointment only.
You can contact me via my mobile: 07797 716571

“Newton & Newton will cease trading on the 24th December 2025 after 71 years of business, brain child of my late father Fred Newton and his brother Les; two East End boys who came to Jersey to start a new life, their first job on landing in Jersey being kitchen porters at the St Brelade's Bay Hotel.
Together they created a successful photographic business, working many hours taking pictures at Snow Hill and employing a great team who, along with my mum Betty developed black and white photos in the laboratories at the rear of the shop, eventually progressing to hand colouring photos before the age of colour photography.
Les and my dad parted ways after a number of years but with my dad's passion for cowboys and the old great Western movies, he diversified into Firearms and made the business into what it has been since with myself and Stephen joining about 50 years ago. Later, Norman Wood joined us and was a great asset with his knowledge of Firearms. When Norman left, Graeme joined the business and has been the owner of Newton & Newton for the last 10 years. Graeme's expertise in all things military and being a brilliant gunsmith made it possible to carry on my dad's legacy to the present day, between us we were also able to diversify and make the shop a "Toys for Boys" Graeme and I were lucky to have a lot of help from lan Channing who was on board as a Gunsmith and Firearms Engineer helping with deactivations.
I would like to thank Graeme for all that he did in helping me and Stephen over the years and for seeing the business through difficult times during his ownership the last 10 years, even with obstacles such as Covid and being up against the "Giant" Amazon.
Graeme is hoping to see all the old and new faces in the last week of trading, and I would ask anyone who can make time to pop in and say hello or goodbye to him and wish him luck, to please do so. I am going to be with my "comrade in arms" on Christmas Eve which will be an emotional day for us both, I will be saying goodbye to my dad's legacy but will be wishing Graeme all the very best for the future with his semi retirement, as the Newton & Newton brand will live on with Graeme still providing batteries and firearms services from other premises (Appointment only)
Good luck Graeme with this new chapter in your life and Newton & Newton.
Happy New Year to you and your family and to all our customers throughout the years. I thank you all.”
Mark Newton.
